12 Days of Christmas || Our ornaments!

As most of you know Ronnie is a potter and does some amazing work! He even owns a small business called Ugly Mug Pottery. When we talked about making our Christmas ornaments for our first tree together I'm so happy we agreed to make some with clay! They are handmade stoneware pottery.

 

A few weeks ago I went with Ronnie to the studio and he rolled out a slab of brown clay for us. I sat down with cookie cutters and other objects to cut our the clay. After they were cut and designed they had to be fired. On Sunday I went back and glazed them. I choose pinks, greens, and whites. I really love the pinks (of course) and the whites with the brown. They look so simple and beautiful. Ronnie brought them home today and I am just so happy I almost squealed.

 

 

I am not a potter or know pottery well but it was so much fun and I just love how they turned out SO much! I think it's perfect for our first Christmas together.

If you do not have access to a clay studio there are many options to do this from home such as baking clay in your oven!
