A little more watercolor fun

Finding new watercolor techniques is one of my favorite things!
I just tried these today and they are a little tricky but can be used in some pretty creative ways.

Supplies you will need
Clean water. Round brush
Nail polish remover. Q-tips. White crayon
The colors I used today were Orange, Violet, and Magenta. Simple and bright!

Water Drops.
Saturate your background with a watered down and vibrant color.
Before your paint dries and it's still very wet you'll want to gather a lot of water on your brush and dab it in a different color. You'll then take that brush and lightly dab the end on the paper. The paint is going to do what it wants and not really a technique you want to use if you want a lot of control with your paints. Let the paint organically fall into place.

White Crayon.
It look me awhile to actually figure this out, however, it's really fun once you get the hang of it! For this technique you really can't use too saturated of paint and use a lot of water! Take your white crayon and draw your picture or design on your surface. Once you have completed your design take a very watered down paint and lightly brush over your drawings. The white will then appear underneath the paint!

Nail Polish Remover.
This actually calls for rubbing alcohol but I had what was second best. This is when you will use your Q tip. While your paint is still wet, take your Q tip and wet it down with nail polish remover. You will then dab your Q-tip in the paint. It also looks a lot like fungus to me so I'm not quite sure how much I'll use this in the future.

If you have anymore watercolor techniques and how to use them in paintings I'd love to know!

Enjoy your creative adventures!
XOXO
