Wild Flowers

I'm a big fan of creating art with what you have and what's around you.
This is why I went on a trip to steal some wild flowers along the Winooski River.

Almost everyone had pressed flowers before but here's a project with a little bit of a twist! I loved this project and how unique the finished product is. You won't get the same thing twice. These pieces of art work you can frame or even make for the front of cards or even something you could do in an art journal. I enjoyed this project best with a cup of tea on the patio along with some Jack Johnson.

Here's some materials you will need
Wild flowers, berries, and leaves.
Paper -- I used watercolor paper because of the texture
Hammer
Modge Podge
Some of the flowers I kept to press onto paper for color and some of them I pressed in a book.

The steps to this project are so simple. You really don't need much direction. Take your color flower and smash it down with a hammer! Some of them worked much better then others. I found dandelions to work the best! Berries also create a really great soft background.

The next day I took my pressed flowers and modge podged them onto my pieces of paper along with the designs.

Here are my finished pieces! I'm thinking about framing them as a set and hanging them in the kitchen! I would love to see or hear about any artwork you have made from flowers or plants!

Enjoy your days!
