The last time I blogged was before I left to Mexico for my Halloween inspirations. Yikes!
Looking back on the past month I realize that it has been a really eventful and creative! It's my favorite time of year though so I'm excited to create and share some more then I have been lately. All of the leaves have fallen off the trees here in Vermont and although I have the highest anxiety driving in the snow I think that winter is SO beautiful. I think I take more photos during the winter then I ever have in the autumn to be honest.
I recently posted on my facebook and other social media about my cards I am creating! Since I love to make and send cards and also have a love for my Holga and lomography I decided to combine the two together. It was a slow start and selling fall cards is a little outdated by now but I'm very excited that I have an idea rolling! My biggest fear with selling lomography photography in Vermont is that nobody knows what it is!
"What is that around your neck?" "A Holga" "A Holg-e-whata?"
Vermont is very big on only buying from local artists and a little conservative in photography in my true and honest opinion & that makes me really nervous. I hope that I can do something different that I haven't seen in art shows before here and people will love my work!
You can find and purchase my cards on my Etsy page!
Speaking of art shows, yesterday was Ronnie's last show in our little town of Winooski!
He has done SO well this year and has gone so far in starting back up his business I just couldn't be more proud of him, he inspires me so much! He will still be doing custom orders and they are also so beautiful! You can see his work and contact him at uglymugvt.com...or like him on facebook!
(His first show earlier this year at Vergennes Day)
I did get my new roll of film a week ago for my Holga and I'm still debating how I feel about them. I think I was spoiled by my amazing roll I had from my autumn photographs that I just got my hopes up! Holga is tricky though...you never know!
This month my awesome boss asked my to take photos of her son for his Senior pictures! It was so much fun to take portraits again since I haven't in Vermont yet! We took photos along Lake Champlain and around the Echo Aquarium. Curt is a cool cat and I loved his fun and open attitude during our photo shoot!
Ronnie and I went out last night and bought a CHIRSTMAS TREE! Yes I said it, a Christmas Tree before Thanksgiving. Why would I spend money on something beautiful and not want to enjoy it for as long as I can? (I still love Thanksgiving) We do not have ornaments for it yet so it's kind of a blank canvas at the moment. We do have colors picked out though...so time to deck the halls!
Also! I am going to start VLOGGING. Yes, Vlogging. As incredibly awkward as I am speaking in front of a camera. I want to start a vlog and talk about all things wonderful in life and that includes art of course. So I will be posting those vlogs here on my blog! I'm not quite sure what to expect from my art vlog yet but I'm excited to try new things and see what works! If there's something you would really enjoy seeing... I would love all of the ideas and suggestions.
I'm excited to see what happens in the new season and this coming month!
