New Years Crafts!

I hope all of your holidays were merry and bright!
Now it is time to ring in a new year! I'm normally not very big on new years but I can really feel a difference this year. I have big plans and goals this year that I'm very excited about!

What else is great on New Years? MORE GLITTER CRAFTS! (I promise I will lay off the glitter shortly after the New Year...maybe in March..or July)

The first craft is a glitter confetti crown which is fun for any party! I found inspiration for this project at bestfriendsforfrosing.com

These are the supplies you will need

  •  Wire. You'll want a thicker wire that's very flexible and easy to work with.
  • Confetti! I used the star confetti...I bet this would work even better with the pieces of thin and flat confetti though.
  • Hot Glue

First you'll take your wire and cut it to a good long size. I then twisted the backs together so it was large enough to fit a little loose on my head...remember these are crowns and not headbands so they lay on your head and don't need to be tight.

Next you will want to make a small pile of confetti on a piece of paper that you will toss later.
You will want to cover your crown good with hot glue, be careful! While the glue is wet dip it in the confetti!

After your crown is done dying you'll want to take off access confetti that is hanging too loosely or other hot glue string.
Tada! A fun and simple crown :)

The new project is a little 2016 sign that you can put anywhere in your home..I might use mine as a centerpiece for my table with a nice plant. This is a project you can get really creative with and don't have to stop at glitter...you can apply anything to these!

You'll want to purchase individual wooden numbers. I purchased mine from Michael's arts and crafts. They were about $1.75 each.

The glue I used was rubber cement. Once I have lathered a good layer of glue on my letter I dipped into glitter and did a second dip into the confetti we used for our crowns. I did not want too much confetti on it...just a touch.

I hope your ring you way into the new year with a lot of color and shine! :)
Enjoy!
